Q:    What is NevadaGIVES?
A:    NevadaGIVES, a nonprofit organization, believes in the power of each individual to make a positive difference in our community.  We provide the tools and direction to help make it easy for you to give back in whatever way best suits you and your interests. NevadaGIVES truly is a giving hub—we offer a central spot (or “hub”) to connect  Nevadan businesses, individuals and nonprofits to the local charitable sector and to one another.

Q:    What programs and services does NevadaGIVES provide/offer?
A:    Through education, networking and partnership, NevadaGIVES provides various networking forums and educational programs to those who call Nevada home. Whether you are looking for information on local nonprofits, our community’s charitable calendar of events, or how to create a giving plan that meets your needs, NevadaGIVES can help you achieve your charitable goals.

Q:    What areas/communities does NevadaGIVES support?
A:    NevadaGIVES is a resource for southern Nevadans. In the future, we plan to expand statewide, and we have already begun to collaborate with national organizations to provide you with best practices while promoting local volunteerism and philanthropy.

Q:     What resources can NevadaGIVES offer to assist me with creating a personal giving plan?
A:     NevadaGIVES provides resources and articles on our website and in our e-newsletters to help you develop your own personal giving plan. Additionally, if you need further assistance in crafting or implementing your plan, you may refer to our list of Community Partners, some of whom may be able to provide you with the personal attention and a customized solution to meet your needs.

Q:    Does NevadaGIVES rank charities?
A:    NevadaGIVES is not designed to evaluate or rank the effectiveness of local nonprofits. We provide online resources to help individuals determine how to evaluate charities.

Q:    Where can I go for volunteer opportunities?
A:     NevadaGIVES has Strategic Partners such as HandsOn Nevada (formerly Volunteer Center of Southern Nevada) and Nevada Volunteers that can assist you.
