Q:    What is NevadaGIVES?
A:    NevadaGIVES, a nonprofit organization, believes in the power of each individual to make a positive difference in our community.  We provide the tools and direction to help make it easy for you to give back in whatever way best suits you and your interests. NevadaGIVES truly is a giving hub—we offer a central spot (or “hub”) to connect southern Nevadan businesses, individuals and nonprofits to the local charitable sector and to one another.

Q:    How does NevadaGIVES benefit local businesses?
A:    For both large and small businesses, NevadaGIVES provides online tools, resources and best practices to either create or enhance a social responsibility program. In addition, NevadaGIVES provides forums that will give you the opportunity to network with nonprofits, other businesses, and civic-minded leaders.

Q:    Does NevadaGIVES rank charities?
A:    NevadaGIVES is not designed to evaluate or rank the effectiveness of local nonprofits. We do provide online resources to help you as a company determine how to evaluate charities and their grant and/or sponsorship requests.

Q:    How will NevadaGIVES help me connect with charities and other funders?
A:    NevadaGIVES hosts luncheons for corporate giving professionals, along with networking opportunities with both nonprofits and businesses. Both the forum and networking opportunities allow businesses in our community to learn about each other’s giving, innovative giving strategies, and the selection process utilized by various companies.

Q:    How do I promote my company’s charitable activity or a special employee volunteer?
A:    Good news needs to be seen and heard, and NevadaGIVES is the tool to highlight your corporate citizenship efforts. Through our website, you can post your company’s charitable happenings, highlight an employee volunteer or share the good works of a nonprofit with which you are involved. You can also submit photos with your articles as well.
    
Q:    Will NevadaGIVES help me establish a corporate giving program or volunteer program?
A:    NevadaGIVES can provide you with the tools and resources to help you create both corporate giving programs as well as volunteer programs. We will also refer you to local organizations and/or individuals that can provide you customized support.

Q:    Where can I go for volunteer opportunities?
A:     NevadaGIVES has Strategic Partners such as the Volunteer Center of Southern Nevada and Nevada Volunteers that can assist you.

Q:    How do I showcase my peers’ good works?
A:    NevadaGIVES provides you with an on-line vehicle to highlight you or your peers’ charitable work and volunteerism. Simply complete the on-line form here,  and we’ll take care of the rest!

Q:    What is BCIC, and how can I get involved?
A:    BCIC stands for Business Community Investment Council. NevadaGIVES organizes and facilitates
quarterly meetings of BCIC so that corporate giving professionals can share best practices, voice any challenges or concerns they have, and get updates about NevadaGIVES. Attendance is limited to businesses and corporate giving professionals.
