NevadaGIVES History

Through a multi-year grant from New Ventures in Philanthropy, NevadaGIVES was launched as an initiative of the Business Community Investment Council (BCIC) and Nevada Community Foundation in 2003. As the community's interest in NevadaGIVES continued to grow and NevadaGIVES recognized the need to increase its impact, it decided to establish itself as an independent 501(c)(3) public charity in 2007.

Since its establishment as a 501(c)(3) public charity, NevadaGIVES has increased its community outreach in furtherance of its mission. Some of our  community outreach activities include our Philanthropy Summit, "Meet the Grantmakers" forum, quarterly Business Community Investment Council (BCIC) luncheons, semi-annual meetings with the Southern Nevada Regional Funders Forum, and our bi-annual Speed Dating for Funders and Nonprofits event.

NevadaGIVES has ambitious plans for the future, including philanthropy promotional campaigns and utilizing technology to connect those with resources to those in need of resources. We look forward to providing you ongoing updates!

Nevada's Big Give

On November 17, 2011, NevadaGIVES held the first ever onling giving day, to benefit local nonprofits by providing Nevadans a simple opportunity to give to their favorite causes........ a simple, fun way to give where they live.  And since it is completely online, it's as simple as three clicks. Point. Click. Give

Nevada’s Big Give was a huge success, and we couldn’t have done it without your support and generosity!   As a state, we united to give where we live in 24 hours.  More than 2300 individuals donated a total of $410,673.
