We're about giving

Nevada Gives is a new non-profit organization created to bring the individuals, families, and businesses of our community together in the spirit of giving. Our sole mission is to promote the wisdom of volunteerism and philanthropy in Southern Nevada.

We don’t favor any single or specific charity in our community. We favor all of them. As such, our mission is very broad. We want to encourage people to give locally, especially the many new businesses and individuals who haven't yet been inspired to give. There are thousands of opportunities to make a difference in Southern Nevada, and we think it's simply a matter of connecting citizens to the needs all around them.

Nevada Gives represents a restructuring and revitalization of the Business Community Investment Council (BCIC). We will continue to utilize the resources and network built by BCIC to move forward in promoting philanthropy. Our strength comes from the passion of members of our community – we are governed by a board of community volunteers, and our initiatives are propelled by active, engaged individuals and businesses from all across Southern Nevada.

Our efforts will be focused on our website as a resource for community members to learn about giving in Southern Nevada. Periodic networking events also will be scheduled as a way of keeping local philanthropists connected with one another.
